Town councillors have given Lyme’s Marine Theatre advertising rotunda a reprieve following a public outcry.

Members had voted to remove the advertising column, at Bell Cliff, claiming it caused congestion in a busy area. But a petition urged them to reconsider and at a special meeting they reversed the decision. Mayor Owen Lovell said: “This council is keen to listen to its residents.”
