Air ambulance called to resort after man collapses in seafront car park
AN elderly man was airlifted to hospital after collapsing at Cobb Gate car park in Lyme Regis at around 2pm yesterday (Wednesday).
A local ambulance crew called for assistance from the town’s coastguard unit which prepared a landing spot for the helicopter.
The casualty was flown to the Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester where his condition is currently not known.
Coastguards from Lyme Regis and Rescue Helicopter 106 had been put on standby just minutes earlier when police called them to help look for a missing four-year-old boy.
The rescue teams were stood down when a further police report stated that the child had been found safe and well at the Cobb.
