Lifeboat team stand by to help flood victims in cornwall
THREE members of Lyme Regis lifeboat crew were part of the RNLI’s westcountry flood response team standing by to help Cornish flood victims yesterday (Wednesday).
Tim Edwards, Martin Croad and Elliott Herbert joined 11 other members ready to help when they gathered at police headquarters in Exeter.
The three Lyme Regis crew are members of the specially trained team who are ready to go to disaster scenes anywhere in the world at 24 hours notice.
Tim Edwards said: “Although, in the end, we were not needed for rescue work, it was a useful exercise and a valuable experience meeting other members of the flood response team.”
