Golf day helps raise vital funds for the Dorset based children's hospice
The Rotary Club of Lyme Regis has presented Julia’s House, the Dorset based children’s hospice, with a cheque for £1,500.
The money was raised partly at the recent Rotary charity golf day at the Lyme Regis Golf Club, with additions from Rotary funds.
Rotarian Richard Cridge, who helped run the event, said: “Julia’s House does some sterling work with children with life threatening illnesses.
“Not only do they provide help for the children themselves in the environment of the hospice, but they assist families in coping with the strains and stresses associated with these illnesses. “They visit children in their own homes, provide some inspiring play or music based activity and customised accommodation at the headquarters at Corfe Mullen, near Poole, and offer respite to families and counselling where required.
“Anyone visiting the centre cannot but be impressed with the work of the charity, the friendliness, care and compassion shown by the staff, the general aura of fun and happiness throughout the building.
“We are pleased to be able to support this wonderful charity. Thank you once again to all our sponsors and contributors to our golf day, without your help it would not be possible.”
