PEOPLE in Lyme Regis and the surrounding areas are being invited to spend the night together for Cancer Research UK's Relay For Life.The event aims to bring the community together in one place for up to 24 hours - to celebrate the lives of those who have survived cancer and to remember those who have died.Teams of eight are asked to join, set up camp, and take it in turns to run or walk around a track.The highlight will be the Candle of Hope Ceremony, which will be held at dusk.Chairman of Cancer Research UK's Relay for Life in Lyme Regis, Rikey Austin, said: "Relay For Life is the world's largest fundraising event. Let's make the first one in Lyme Regis a great success."As one in three people will be affected by cancer at some point in their lives, it's an opportunity to remember those lost to it and support those who are facing cancer."It takes place on Saturday, August 16, at the Lyme Regis Football Ground.
