The eight-year-old will donate her hair to The Little Princess Trust.

An Upottery youngster has taken the brave decision to have eight inches of her hair cut - and will donate her locks to The Little Princess Trust.

Madeleine Smart - known as Maddie - had her hair cut at Holly’s Hair Boutique in Black Lion Court, Honiton.

The Upottery Primary School pupil said she had her hair cut because it ‘was growing very long’, adding: “A friend suggested I did it, and I thought it was a really good idea. It was not scary - it was exciting! I am going to keep it short, my school friends think it is quite nice.”

Maddie’s mum, Melanie, said: “I’m really proud of her - she looks very grown up.”
