Young Maisy Trott got to bang a drum after winning Axminster Library’s summer reading challenge prize draw.
Her reward was an afternoon percussion session with library staff member and local music teacher Matthew Brown.
Maisy learnt how to play drum beats, drum fills, even some Brazilian rhythms!
“I’m hoping that she learnt enough to play along with her favourite band, The Vamps,” said Matthew.
A record 289 children started the summer reading challenge at Axminster this year and 234 finished it.
