Man airlifted to hospital after A30 Yarcombe collision

The incident happened this morning (Thursday) at 8.48am.

A man was airlifted to hospital after his car came off the road and hit a tree on the A30 Yarcombe, near Honiton.

The incident happened this morning (Thursday) at 8.48am.

Firefighters from Honiton and Chard, police officers and paramedics attended the scene of the collision.

Fire crews had released the man, who was trapped in his car, a silver Renault Mégane registered to Exeter, with hydraulic rescue equipment by 9.50am.

He was then airlifted to Derriford Hospital with suspected chest injuries.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said the road was clear by 10.52am.
