A MAN in a home-made 'raft' had to be rescued when he got into difficulties off Charmouth beach.
Coastguards were called out yesterday (Wednesday, April 21) after it was feared the man would end up on Church Cliffs, Lyme Regis.
The Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat was launched at 4pm and the raft was assisted to the safety of Charmouth beach.
The owner of the raft was given safety advice by coastguards.
