Lyme lifeboat crew go the the aid of a swimmer with a suspected dislocated shoulder

A swimmer injured when he dived from the North Wall of Lyme Regis harbour was rescued by the town’s lifeboat crew yesterday (Tuesday).

The Sprit of Loch Fyne was just leaving the port on exercise at 6pm when the alarm was raised.

The lifeboat reached the man close to the harbour steps and helped him ashore applying first aid.

Coastguards, lifeboat shore crew and members of the public carried the man on a stretcher to the lifeboat station to await an ambulance.

The man had apparently dislocated a shoulder.
