Homeless man gets one minute sentence after breaching order not to visit a street in Seaton

A homeless man was locked up…for 60 seconds.

Robbie Male admitted breaching an ASBO to keep away from the street where his mum lives in Seaton.

But Male, 30, who lives in a tent, was desperate to get £6 he needed for a bus fare and went to see his mum and was arrested on Saturday afternoon.

He spent the weekend in the cells at Exeter police station and yesterday (Tuesday November 12) he appeared before Exeter magistrates’ court.

The JPs imposed a £70 fine on him but because he had no money on him they detained him in custody for just one minute.
