Man rescued from flat fire

Cause of the fire under investigation.

A man was rescued from a fire in a flat in Seaton.

Fire crews from Seaton and Colyton attended the incident at 12.16am this morning (Monday) at Queen Street and confirmed there was a small fire within a first floor flat.

The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal image camera.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “ Fire crews rendered oxygen therapy to the casualty, who was suffering from smoke inhalation, until the arrival of the ambulance.

“The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire service and police.”
