Man taken to hospital after collision

Male casualty freed from vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment.

A man was taken to hospital following a collision near Axminster.

The incident last Friday, at 8.47, involved a car and a van on the A37 at Shute.

Firefighters from Colyton and Axminster attended the scene.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “One male casualty was extricated from one vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment.

“The casualty was conveyed to hospital by ambulance. Fire crews made the vehicles and immediate area safe using small tools and left the incident in the hands of Police and Ambulance.”
