Lauren Kerslake, 15, was one of 20 RAF cadets chosen from around the country to play in a band for the Centenary Dinner of the Air League - a society to promote British aviation.

Lauren, who plays clarinet in the Combined Cadet Force band, said: "It was one of the best opportunities I've ever had and an honour to be able to play at the Mansion House.

"I found out later the guests did not realise we were cadets until we left the balcony, and they gave us wonderful applause.
