NEW Axe Valley Community College head teacher Martin Smith said he wants to make the college 'outstanding'.

NEW Axe Valley Community College head teacher Martin Smith said he wants to make the college 'outstanding'.In a letter to parents, he paid tribute to his predecessor and outlined his future plans.He wrote: "I would like to pay tribute to Ms Pinfield, my predecessor, for these achievements; she has passed on to me the leadership of a college that is in a strong and healthy position."We are determined to make this college outstanding in every way so that the students in the Axe Valley area have access to a first class education."He said the curriculum would be developed to meet individual needs and some students would have the chance to start A Levels at Year 11.The school is also looking to change the uniform and develop a new sixth form.Speaking to the Herald, Mr Smith said: "There should be no ceiling on what we can achieve. "We owe it to the young people to have high ambitions for them and what they can achieve.
