THE TOWN Crier, Phil Street, will open Lyme Regis Museum's fifth Mary Anning Day on Saturday, June 28.

THE TOWN Crier, Phil Street, will open Lyme Regis Museum's fifth Mary Anning Day on Saturday, June 28.And eminent novelist Tracey Chevalier, author of Girl with a Pearl Earring, will be answering questions on her new book based on Lyme's most famous daughter.At 10.30am Mr Street will make the traditional 'cry' to mark the celebration of the lady who pioneered the study of fossils in the early 19th Century. Then, from 11am to 2pm, Chevalier will speak in the Guildhall.The museum itself will be open free on the day. A second-hand book sale will be held in aid of the museum's extension fund.All events are free and full programmes are available at the museum.
