The 73-year-old, who is fighting cancer in her leg, received the mobility scooter from Carol Gilson, founder of the Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme.

An elderly woman has benefited from a scooter donation from the Honiton-based Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme.

Mary Pullon, who is fighting cancer in her leg, received the mobility scooter from Carol Gilson, founder of the scheme.

Mary, 73, said: “It is a wonderful scheme and this will improve my life no end.”

Carol would also like to express her sincere thanks to Neil and Clive at TRIP Community Transport Association, R K Tools and Honiton Tech Shop for their ‘wonderful continuous support’.

She added: “I would also like to say a big thank you for my wonderful driver Mark, who picks up my scooters and delivers them to the people who need them most. Merry Christmas to them all.”

The scooter was the 145th donated by the scheme.
