Councillor David Foster spent time in the stocks on Charter Day and was pelted with wet sponges to celebrate the town’s latest fundraising efforts - £530 was raised for Friends of the Beehive.

Friends of the Beehive is currently raising money for the fitting out of the new Beehive Community Centre in Dowell Street.

It will be hosting a bake sale to boost funds for the project on Saturday, August 3, at the Sustainable Saturday event in the Mackarness Hall, from 9am until noon.
