The list of mourners at the service read like a Who's Who of East Devon.It included Tiverton and Honiton MP Angela Browning (Conservative), who travelled to Honiton by train from Westminster.The leader and chairman of East Devon District Council, Sara Randall Johnson and Paul Diviani, were also present, along with civic dignitaries from Axminster and, of course, members of Honiton Town Council.A large number of police officers attended. Many of those providing the guard of honour were not only former colleagues of Councillor Tratt but personal friends, too.In the congregation was Inspector Norman Amey, formerly stationed at Honiton.Other mourners included: Norman Tyson, Principal of Honiton Community College; Margaret Lewis, archivist and curator of Allhallows Museum; Val Royle, of TRIP Community Transport Association; Vic Bowsher, of Honiton Hospital League of Friends; businessman Derek Blackmore; Karen Young, acting chairman of Honiton Community College's Parents', Staff and Friends' Association; local businessman and magician George Blake; members of Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry.n Following the service, mourners met at the Royal British Legion club, in Dowell Street, to express their condolences to Councillor Tratt's family and to share memories about him.
