A POLICE car stopped to check on the welfare of a middle aged woman, who was standing in the dark at a bus stop in a country lane – only to find it was the Mayor of Honiton, waiting for transport to get to the January meeting of Honiton Town Council.
A POLICE car stopped to check on the welfare of a middle aged woman, who was standing in the dark at a bus stop in a country lane - only to find it was the Mayor of Honiton, waiting for transport to get to the January meeting of Honiton Town Council.
Councillor Vivienne Ash, later on the same evening, told Pc Ian Atyeo and Inspector Antonia Weeks that she was grateful a passing police car had stopped so an officer could ask if she was alright.
"I hope I wasn't looking suspicious," she added.
