Go-ahead resort continues to buck the high street trend with the opening of another new business

Seaton continued to buck the national trend of high street closures with the opening of another new venture last week.

Mayor Gaynor Sedgwick wished everyone ‘buon appetito’ when she officially launched the new ‘Amore’ Italian Restaurant, in Harbour Road.

The family-run business, owned by Ash and Kath Mitchell, is the latest of a number of new restaurants and shops that have recently opened in the resort.

Ash said: “We are really pleased to have been able to open Amoré in Seaton. We have an amazing team with Michael Georgiou our chef – who is passionate about Italian cuisine and Angela Read our front of house manager who will ensure a visit to Amoré, whatever the occasion, will be one to remember.”

Cutting the ribbon to open the new venture Cllr Sedgwick said: “I am so pleased that Seaton is attracting high quality businesses, we now have a number of really good places to eat, which is what we were lacking. We continue to buck the trend when it comes to new businesses investing in Seaton. It’s definitely becoming the place to live, visit and invest in, I wish Amoré every success.”
