HONITON will boast an all-new line-up on its royal float at carnivals across East Devon this year.

Isabel Stamp, carnival queen, and her royal party will stand down next month after a two-year reign, when a four-strong new royal family will be crowned.

Carnival queen-in-waiting is Ella Symonds, 12, a student at Honiton Community College.

"I'm excited and looking forward to everything - especially the dresses," she told the Herald.

"I've always wanted to do it, since I was little, but didn't have the time before."

Princesses are Zara Sillitoe, eight, a pupil at Littletown Primary School, and Lauren King, nine.

Zara is used to taking part in carnivals, as a cheerleader, and says she is looking forward to touring routes sitting down.

The attendant will be former Honiton Twirlstar Hannah Enticott, 13, a student at Honiton Community College.

"I've always wanted to do it, but was a majorette," she said.

The girls will be crown in High Street on August 29 and their first official engagement will be Seaton Carnival, the traditional opening night of the East Devon illuminated circuit.
