Movember gets under way in Honiton.

The Mayor and his Movember Crew will once again be growing and styling their moustaches this month to raise money for men’s health charities.

Councillor David Foster has put together a team to take on the month-long Movember challenge.

The team so far includes Luke Dolby, Steve Smith and John Collins of Dailyztech, Nick of Hair Sanctuary, Joe and Angus McCaig, and Rocket Wood of the Holt, market manager Tony McCollum, Mike Vernon, Devon Freewheelers founder Dan Lavery and town crier Dave Retter.

“I am really looking forward to this November - it is great fun as always. What is important is that we will be working to raise money and awareness of men’s health charities,” says Cllr Foster. “I am looking forward to the challenging month ahead and growing my facial hair.”

Shop owner and town councillor Cathryn Andrews, will also be supporting the team as a ‘Mo Sista’, and will be selling special Movember cakes at her store, Icing Occasions, in Black Lion Court.

This year the mayor is hoping to encourage as many teams as possible to come along to a celebration evening being held at The Holt on Tuesday, December 3, at 7pm. There will be awards for the best team effort, most stylish moustache and the worst effort. There will be three mystery judges on the night.

Anyone wishing to come along on the celebration evening or join the Movember Crew call Mr Foster on 01404 45106.
