Public gets the chance to see garden designer Penny Pritchard’s work at Cleave Hill

A Membury couple are opening their garden to the public this weekend.

Andy and Penny Pritchard will be inviting people to their home at Cleave Hill on Saturday and Sunday, July 1 and 2, from 11am to 5pm each day.

It is part of the national gardens scheme which allows people with beautiful gardens to open them to the public with all the proceeds going to important charities such as Marie Curie and Macmillan cancer research.

The pretty garden at Cleave Hill features breathtaking views of the Devon countryside and is set around an old thatched cottage and barns.

It has been created by Penny who is a professional garden designer - and the daughter of Mary Benger who created Burrow Farm Gardens.

The planting at Cleave Hill is traditional cottage style and there is wildflower meadow.

Admission to the garden is £4 and teas and light refreshments will be available all weekend.

Cleave Hill, Membury, Axminster, Devon, EX13 7AJ, is four miles NW of Axminster. From Membury Village, follow the road down the valley, take the first right after Lea Hill B&B, and it is the last house on drive, approximately one mile.
