A Honiton-based bloodbikes charity has received a vital financial boost thanks to a group of MG owners.

Exeter MG Owners Club (MGOC) presented a £1,000 cheque to its charity of the year, Devon Freewheelers.

The money was raised by MG enthusiasts from all across the UK who paid to take part in Exeter’s MOOR 2 SEA event on May 28.

The day sees entrants each buy in to enter an MG run of more than 76 miles around various roads in Dartmoor.

The run started and finished at the Bovey Tracey Golf Club.

The cheque was presented to Devon Freewheelers volunteer motorcyclist Ian Hopkins by Bob Featherstone, chairman of Exeter MGOC and the club’s area secretary Derrick Layzell.

The money raised will keep one blood bike in fuel for 14,000 miles.
