Shute pre-school is praised by Ofsted inspectors who highlight the children’s healthy lifestyle
Shute’s Little Acorns pre-school has received big praise from independent assessors.
Set within the grounds of the village primary school, the group has been rated ‘Good in all areas’ following its recent Ofsted inspection.
A report described it as having “strong partnerships with the host school and parents and carers who provide good continuity in children’s learning and development.”
It also highlights “exciting learning opportunities indoors and out” and how “parents and carers speak very highly of the friendly and open atmosphere of the pre-school.”
Inspectors add: “Children learn effectively about healthy lifestyles as they enjoy lots of physical activity, pouring themselves drinks of water when they come in from play and tucking into lots of fruit and healthy food throughout the day.”
Michele Young, who joined the group as leader last September, said: “I am very pleased with the results and the inspector was very complimentary about our staff and how much the children enjoy coming to Little Acorns. Since our inspection we have had four new children join us. It’s amazing, we’re almost full on every session.”
