Police appeal for information following an increase in milk bottle thefts from the elderly.
ELDERLY residents in Colyton have been left with a sour taste in their mouths after seeing a return of milk bottle thefts.
Over the last two months police have seen an increase in the thefts of milk bottles from the doorsteps of properties around the King and Queen Street area.
The thefts take place in the early hours of the morning and are often targeted at elderly occupants.
PC Speariett said “Whoever is committing these thefts has no respect for the community and it is causing great distress to the victims who are mainly elderly.
“Why they feel the need to steal from elderly people who rely on the deliveries is beyond contempt and they should be ashamed of themselves.”
