Having heard all the arguments about the relocation of Tesco to Ottery Moor Lane in Honiton, I am delighted to hear the application has been refused.I would have thought that the best place for Tesco to relocate to would have been Heathpark Industrial Estate. This would avoid a lot of the traffic congestion around the Ottery Moor Lane/Exeter Road area and would mean that the only junction that needed to be improved would be the one at the Honiton Motel. How many people living in Millhead Road have given a thought to the extra traffic they are going to see as it uses this road as a rat run to avoid the busy Tesco entrance? Millhead Road already has a traffic problem, with articulated lorries and, occasionally, coaches using this route in and out of town. For a so-called residential street, it is not a particularly safe place to bring up young children.I complained to the police about the speeding along this road and they passed the buck to the highways authority, who then passed it back to the police again saying enforcement of speeding is a police matter and that the police would contact me to discuss the complaint.I am still waiting.
