Looking to tackle one of the last great taboos

Ten people attended the Death Café at Eyre Court Hotel in Seaton recently.

The aim is to give people the freedom to have conversations about death and dying and so overcome the fear and taboo of talking about this.

At a Death Café people share as equals, it isn’t about asking an expert, they learn from each other and every Café is different.

Comments from these events so far include:

“I didn’t know what to expect but it was a really useful experience.”

“This was my first Death Café visit and I would benefit from another.”

More Death Cafes are happening in East Devon in the coming months.

Theses are on June 8, 7pm to 9pm at Beehive Honiton

July 10, 7pm to 9pm at Arts Café in Axminster.

July 24, 7pm to 9pm at Seasons Café Ottery St Mary.
