More taxi ranks a possibility, Seaton
SEATON could have more taxi ranks in the town after plans were forward to the council.
SEATON could have more taxi ranks in the town after plans were forward to the council.
East Devon District Council's licensing team is asking members of the public to comment on proposals, which could see up to four taxi ranks in the town.
The move is hoped to benefit residents and boost the economy.
If all the proposed taxi ranks are approved, Seaton could gain space to accommodate seven taxis. The new sites located for the proposed extra spaces are in the lower part of Queen Street, near the Beer Road junction, Fore Street and Marine Place.
Letters have been sent to local traders, informing them of the potential changes to taxi ranks, and asking for their views. The proposals can be viewed, along with a map of the projected taxi rank locations, at the Town Hall in Seaton.
Anyone wishing to comment on the proposals should contact EDDC's Licensing officers on 01395 517 411 or write to the Licensing Team, East Devon District Council, Knowle, Sidmouth EX10 8HL by February 15.
