A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital after a collision with a Landrover and trailer in Axminster.

Eyewitnesses say the 25-year-old man was thrown over his Yamaha handlebars about 12 to 15 ft before he landed, following the incident in Musbury Road on Tuesday, May 26.

He is said to have injured his arm but is not thought to have life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Dorchester hospital as a precaution against possible head and neck injuries.

Police closed the road for half an hour at around 3.15pm.
