Mr P - the train now arriving at Seaton TIC

SEATON Tourist Information Centre unveiled an overhead model railway that can be operated by visitors.The novelty attraction is based on the famous Beer Heights Light Railway, at Pecorama, in Beer. A special miniature locomotive with its coaches has been hand-made to run on the TIC track.The locomotive, funded by Pecorama, is based on Mr P, the largest and most powerful engine in the fleet. Mr P takes its name from the founder and managing director of the Peco group of companies, Michael Pritchard.Manager of the TIC Karen Chipperfield has suggested the new locomotive be known as 'Little P '.Pecorama tourism site manager Mark Ridgers said the old railway at the centre needed to be upgraded, so Peco provided the new one - which no longer takes up floor space.He said: "The launch went extremely well and we were extremely pleased with the interest and the local dignitaries who turned up."The railway is a much-improved feature to the old one, which was past its sell-by date. This one is a 60ft G-scale model.
