A NOVELIST from Combe Raleigh is to donate a percentage of the sales from her new book to the Coastguard Rescue Benevolent Fund.Nicky Salter, 55, is a former volunteer coastguard and hopes murder mystery book Kurnow Culling will provide a financial boost to the service.She is the daughter of former Honiton policeman 'Rusty' Salter and, in her youth, was known for her Junior Wimbledon achievements.Nicky says she lived in Cornwall "until her Tamar passport ran out".She was an enthusiastic member of the North Cornwall Coastguard Team, but says she has now returned to her Devonian roots."Kernow Culling centres on Cornwall - surf, sea, sand and sun," she told the Herald."The annual holidaymakers invading these idyllic surroundings are completely oblivious to the tainted undercurrents in the community."Family feuds, planning rows and coastguard teams coping with rescues all form part of the plot.Kurnow Culling, priced �7.99, is published by AuthorHouse and available from Nicky on (01404) 548293 or via www.authorhouse.co.uk
