Fund raising under way to meet 1,000 cost of Minster blooms
FUND raising was under way today (Thursday) to finance this year’s flower festival at Axminster Parish Church.
Around 1,000 is needed to pay for the blooms which will be on display in the Minster from May 18-22. The theme of this year’s show is a musical one - “Composers past and present”.
To help meet the costs a coffee morning and sale, organised by Joan Davies, took place at the Church Rooms on Thursday and attracted a steady stream of visitors.
Pictured on the raffle stall, run by Michael Steer, are (left to right) foreground – Doreen Booth, Beryl Moulding, Joan Davies, Michael Steer and (behind) Jennifer and Peter Royale.
