Barley Close, run by Voyage Care, has been named the company’s Team of the Year (Residential Care).

The service has recently achieved an ‘outstanding’ Care Quality Commission rating and was praised for its person-centred care and support.

Voyage Care CEO Andrew Cannon said: “The team go over and above the expected limits of their roles, an example being that the team will not use agency staff as they wish to maintain the consistency of support to the people in their care. It is a genuinely cohesive team, striving to achieve the best possible outcomes. There is an open and transparent culture between the team members, and they will challenge each other in a professional and healthy way, and are always open to new ideas. They are united in their approach and creative in broadening the experiences of the people we support to improve the richness of their quality of life.”

Service manager Julie Jinks said: “Our amazing residents pull you in with their lovely personalities, and my wonderful team are totally united in trying to give each of them the best life experience possible. I speak for the whole team when I say that working at Barley Close is so much more than just a job.”

The Barley Close team includes: Matthew Guest; Peter Cook; Philip Speed; Jayne Ensor; Michael Adams; Jessica Roche; Terry Rainey and support staff Charlotte Huntley; Tracy Cook; Grace Gimblett; Hannah Montague; Tom Loveridge; Novello Tucker; Matthew Adams; Robert Appleby; Maxine Glover; Hayley Ensor; Lucy Bateman; Gail Herbert; Mandy Soane; and Daisy Butler.
