I was totally amazed when I read the letter from Jan Walters, regarding her visit to Seaton.
I was totally amazed when I read the letter from Jan Walters, regarding her visit to Seaton.
It seems inconceivable to me that so many negative things could happen to one family in a short week.
I don't quite see how she would hear elderly people "tutting about her children playing on the beach", as not many older people venture on the pebbles.
As regards the child-friendly cafe, if it is the one I think she was referring to, it is precisely that - "child-friendly".
There are toys for the younger ones to play with and a football machine for the older ones. I often go in and there are children of all ages there, and I have never heard anyone muttering comments or staring, except perhaps to admire the many babies and young children.
My children and grandchildren, and now the great grandchildren, all grew up here and I have never come across the behaviour as described in this letter.
All I can say is: "Good luck in Sidmouth."
