Snug Inn opens at Seaton’s Check House Nursing Home

Residents at another Seaton nursing home are toasting a welcome addition to their social lives – the opening of their very own bar.

The new Snug Inn was officially launched at The Check House, in Beer Road, last week.

Residents and visiting family members are now able to sit in the newly decorated room and enjoy singing and games, along with their favourite tipple and bar snacks.

It is part of the Cannon Care Homes group’s on-going policy of providing bars for their residents.

Similar facilities have already been installed at Thornfield, in Scalwell Lane, Seaton, and at Silverleigh, in Axminster.

They are apparently proving a bit hit with residents.

A spokeswoman said: “It has lifted their spirits and makes them feel socially included and allows them to join in with everyday activities.

“It is very popular with the residents, and we have had many positive comments.”
