FOLLOWING its successful inaugural meeting in Sidmouth last month, the newly formed East Devon Green Party will meet in Honiton on Saturday, February 13, at Honiton Baptist Church, High Street, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

The meeting is open to all, said the branch's leader, Sharon Pavey, who lives in Membury.

Sharon, 37, whose two children attend school and pre-school in Upottery, has been selected by local members to represent the Greens at the forthcoming General Election.

She is looking for a suitable 'green' venue to hold a launch party.

Sharon said: "Most of our current members live in Sidmouth, but I know there must be people in my own area of Honiton and Axminster who are interested in green issues or about looking into different political options.

"The meeting on February 13 is a great opportunity for local people to get involved in issues in their area. Everyone can make a difference, especially when we all get together to combine our efforts."
