New children's centre for the Axe Valley
A NEW service for the under fives and their families is being offered in the Axe Valley. A Sure Start Children s Centre will be based temporarily in Axminster and then a permanent site will be set up in Seaton next year.
A NEW service for the under fives and their families is being offered in the Axe Valley.
A Sure Start Children's Centre will be based temporarily in Axminster and then a permanent site will be set up in Seaton next year.
But grants of up to �200 are currently being offered for early year's providers.
A manager has been appointed to cover three centres in East Devon.
Fran Drayton works for Action for Children, which has been nominated to set up and run the centres.
She said: "Children's centres meet the differing needs of families, where and when they are most wanted.

"As parents, we all need the support of others at different times when our children are small, and children's centres are able to provide that support, whether formally through groups or informally through stay and plays."
There are also centres based in Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth.
