A new headteacher has taken the reins at a village school near Honiton.

Lorna Legg, who has been teaching for 20 years, has been announced as the new head of Offwell Primary School.

She said: “On my first day, I was delighted to see how many children were waiting eagerly at the gate.

“The children at least as keen to start school as parents were for them to start. I have been a teacher for 20 years and still enjoy the experience of working with young minds – watching them grow and develop under our care.

“There are continuous changes in education today and all of them bring fresh challenges and opportunities.

“What I never forget though, is to look at how any alterations in curriculum or policy will affect the children and what is the best way for our school to implement change positively.

“I am proud to be the new headteacher at Offwell.”
