COUNCILLOR Graham Godbeer stood down as Axminster town mayor after two years in the role.
Deputy mayor Ron Jones was elected as the new mayor during the council's annual general meeting on Monday.
Cllr Godbeer was thanked for his work by fellow councillors. Cllr Jones said: "You will be a hard act to follow and you have done extremely well.
