Property was bought by keen bidder who made a good offer prior to auction

A keen buyer has snapped up The White Hart pub near Honiton before it was due to be sold at auction.

The character roadside pub in Trafalgar Way, Wilmington was among 155 properties listed for the company’s September auction, but the new owner made an offer which was accepted prior to the sale.

The White Hart has a bar and restaurant with nearly 50 covers, three en-suite letting rooms looking out on a pretty garden, and two-bedroom accommodation for the owner or manager. There is also a beer garden, a terraced area, and parking for around twenty-five vehicles.

The property was advertised as guided freehold at £225-275,000.

Graham Barton, Clive Emson’s West Country auctioneer, said: “There was keen interest in the White Hart prior to auction.

“This included one bidder who was keen to secure the property before it came to auction and made an offer in the upper half of the freehold guide which was accepted.”
