Special service to be held on Saturday.

A new pastor will be welcomed into the community to serve the congregation at Honiton Baptist Church.

Pastor Luke Mansfield will be moving to the town with his wife Jemma and their two children later this month and starting his new role in the ministry.

They will be welcomed at a formal service being held at the baptist church on Saturday, August 31, at 3pm.

Over the next three years Mr Mansfield will split his time between serving the ministry and studying at Bristol Baptist College to become a fully accredited baptist minister.

In the last 12 years he has preached on a regular basis at a number of different churches and served five years with the London City Mission as well as being a member of the Brixham Baptist Church leadership team.

He has also been involved in church outreach projects - leading 20s and 30s ministry, prison ministry and running alpha courses.

Mr Mansfield joins Honiton Baptist Church from Brixham Baptist Church where he worked as a youth and children’s worker.

He grew up in Portsmouth and is a keen supporter of Portsmouth Football Club.
