WORK is under way to refurbish public toilets in Honiton.East Devon District Council is spending £70,000 on the project to improve facilities in King Street. The finished result will see Honiton with its first ever unisex cubicles.A council spokesperson told the Herald: "The layout is being changed to a more modern unisex cubicle arrangement, very similar to the ones at Station Road, in Budleigh Salterton, which were built in 2007. "The works will include the installation of new sanitary ware and finishes."We will be using low energy sensor controlled light fittings externally and sun tubes to light each cubicle internally using natural daylight. We will also be using a 100 per cent recycled material as insulation in the roof space. "The works are due to be complete and the building open again towards the end of March.
