SHOULD Honiton Town Council take on the duties of the administrator for the Tourist Information Centre? The question will be put to councillors in the near future, following news that the centre's current administrator will be leaving the post in March.Colin Wright, a director of the TIC, has written to the council asking if the administrator's role could be included in the job description for the town clerk.A new town clerk is to be appointed, following John Spencer's decision to leave the post.Councillors decided at a meeting last week to put off making a recommendation until further information is available.Mr Spencer said he envisaged the work could be incorporated into the agreed extended working hours for the clerk. The council, which offered the TIC a financial lifeline following a cash crisis, decided to find out how much work would be involved.
