The health and beauty retailer is opening a new outlet in Lace Walk.
A major health and beauty retailer is opening a new store in Honiton next month.
Superdrug will set up shop in Lace Walk, moving into the units formerly occupied by discount clothing and home retailer Store 21.
A spokeswoman for the company confirmed the new Superdrug store would be opening its doors on November 24.
The news has been heralded by Colin Wright, president of Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce.
He said: “The chamber is very pleased that an empty shop in Lace Walk will shortly be filled.
“Superdrug is a well-known and trusted name and it is great that the company is venturing into Honiton.
“It will enhance Lace Walk, which is the main thoroughfare into town from the main car park.
“I also think it is good for the community it will cater to all ages.
“Hopefully this will make more major chains take a second look at Honiton when decided to set up a new store.”
The news comes after another major retailer dismissed rumours it was opening a superstore in Honiton.
Poundstretcher was thought to be interviewing for local positions in Axminster.
However, it was revealed that the discount giant is planning to open a new outlet in Chard instead.
Superdrug is the second largest health and beauty retailer in the country behind Boots, with more than 700 stores nationwide.
