Children from Hawkchurch and Musbury primary schools spent a wild night in the woods at Escot Park, near Ottery St Mary, for their residential trip. Amongst the tasks the pupils tackled was to build their own shelters using three large sticks as a base and then building up the sides with more sticks, which they covered with foliage from the woodland floor.

Later the youngsters decorated their new ‘homes’ before settling down to attempt a night’s sleep.
