Well, it’s not exactly new... But it was just what little Noah needed.

A heartfelt appeal for the return of an autistic boy’s lost toy cat has prompted a fantastic response from Midweek Herald readers.

Although three-and-a-half-year-old Noah’s treasured Sing and Sign Jessie cat has not been found, Sarah Glover, who runs Sign and Sign classes in Honiton, has given him hers.

Another reader offered to knit Noah a new one.

“There is no sign of the original Jessie yet,” said Noah’s mum, Sam. “But Sarah heard of Noah’s plight and has given him a well-loved Jessie cat to cheer him up.

“He’d never take to a new one - too different.

“Huge thanks to her.”

Noah was very attached to the toy and it normally went everywhere with him.

It went missing in Honiton two weeks ago.

If you have seen the cat, call The Herald’s newsroom on 01392 888486 or leave it at Honiton Tourist Information Centre.
