Perils of waiting at Honiton bus stop explained by pensioner.

Honiton Town Council has been asked to look again at proposals for a bus shelter in Honiton Bottom Road.

Pensioner Iris Danning, who is a regular bus user, is adamant a shelter could be provided - even though the council has said there is no official stop in the vicinity of her home and that the road is not wide enough to accommodate a bus stop.

Mrs Danning told the Midweek Herald that town clerk Lyn Hargood has agreed to have another look at the suggestion.

“It is not right outside Mill Water School and space could be cut from a grass verge to make room,” she said.

“All we have got at the moment is a tree and I don’t like the drips when the weather is wet or what the birds do on me.”
