It was interesting to read about the painting of Seaton Hole that has recently been returned to the council chamber at Seaton Town Hall. This, undoubtedly, is good news and it just reminds us about the Seaton locomotive nameplate that used to hang in the council offices, which went missing when the Urban District Council was disbanded. A similar nameplate was recently sold at auction and fetched over 20,000, so it would be really excellent if this valuable asset could be found and returned to the council chamber. Is it lurking somewhere in East Devon District Council HQ?M PritchardMusbury
